Kyoto University and BonBon Inc, a Kyoto-based healthcare-related IT company, have now teamed up to show that multiple cognitive abilities may be empirically measured from a complex game experience depending on the game?s design.

?Video games can be made to engage and characterize distinct cognitive abilities while still retaining the entertainment value that popular titles offer,? says Tomihiro Ono, lead author of the joint study in Scientific Reports.

He adds, ?For example, we found that there are in-game micro-level connections such as between stealth behavior and abstract thinking, aiming and attention, and targeting and visual discrimination.?

To make these connections between complex gameplay and interpretable cognitive characteristics, the team combined the use of data from Potion, a 3-D action video game by BonBon Inc, and WebCNP, conventional cognitive tests maintained by the University of Pennsylvania.

Although existing literature and general beliefs regarding similar action video games already suggest the advantage that younger males may have over other demographic groups, the researchers did not expect to obtain measurements reflecting stark differences even after accounting for gaming experience.

?The lack of a connection between cognitive abilities and video game elements in aged players came as a surprise,? Ono notes.

To attain more scientific insight into the psyche of gamers, such as in why computer games have positive influences on some players, the researchers posit that studies using games ought to avoid one-size-fits-all approaches, as demographic factors and game experience can be assumed to affect results.

?We think that a granular understanding of cognitive engagement in video games has potential in benefitting such research areas as psychiatry, psychology, and education,? concludes the author.

2022 is a very important year for horror movies, and we started to see it from the beginning. The premieres of ‘Scream’ Y ‘The grandmother’ They set the bar very high, each in their own style, but what came next has not disappointed.

This year, in which we are sure to see some of the best horror films of the 21st century, sees the return of icons of the genre such as Leatherfacewhich on February 18 returned to our screens with a reboot of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘ on Netflix, and pinheadthe cenobite created by clive barker that will have a new installment of the saga ‘hellraiser‘ premiered directly on Hulu/Disney+ and directed by David Brucknerwhich last year left us with very good feelings (that is to say) with ‘The Night House‘. the saga’Evil Dead‘ has many ballots to be back this year, since although the reboot of the franchise does not have a defined release date, everything indicates that HBO / Warner will release it during 2022.

As if you didn’t think it was enough to meet again with several of the protagonists of the 50 best horror movies (according to IMDb users) such as Leatherface, Pinhead, the deadites from Evil Dead, ghost face Y chucky (this one in series format for Syfy), let’s also remember that in the fall we will have the closing of the new trilogy of Michael Myers in ‘Halloween Ends’with David GordonGreen back in the director’s chair, John Carpenter in the production and to the keyboards and Jamie Lee Curtis in front of the cameras. And in summer, Predator. ‘Prey’ It will be the new installment of the saga, a prequel that returns to the first trip to the Earth of the alien hunter.

Horror, a genre sometimes with incredible and forgotten horror movies, also sneaks into commercial superhero cinema with ‘Morbius‘, a spin-off from the universe of spider-man in which Jared Leto plays a vampire, and Marvel Y sam raimi will flirt with gender in ‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’although the levels of terror of the final product seem to have been reduced since Scott Derrickson (which premieres ‘Black Phone’) will leave the direction before filming.

Even if we broaden the range a bit, one of the most powerful releases of the year, the long-awaited ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ could enter the bag of horror movies. The scenes where the dinosaurs are sneaking up, chasing you and threatening to bite your head off are not comedy.

Spanish cinema continues to investigate the genre after the fantastic ‘La granny’ by Paco Squarewhich has been among the best horror movies in Spanish, with movies like ‘Veneciafrenia’, by Álex de la Iglesia, ‘Visitante’ by Alberto Evangelio, ‘The passenger’ by Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González, ‘Malnazidos’ by Javier Ruiz Caldera, ‘Venus’ by Jaume Balagueró, ‘The communion girl’ by Víctor García and ‘Cerdita’the movie of Charlotte Pereda which has been enthusiastically received at Sundance. Also, Carlos Vermouth prepare ‘Manticore’a sinister thriller that will surely bring us many surprises within the particular universe of the filmmaker from Madrid.

2022 is also the year of new proposals from established filmmakers such as Jordan Peele (‘Nope!’), Robert Eggers (‘The Northman’), Scott Derrickson (‘The Black Phone’), Alex Garland (‘Men’), Rob Zombie (‘The Munsters’) and Henry Selick (‘Wendell & Wild’). Below we review all of them, and some more that will surprise you.

Japan has several small water towns that have, in the past, harnessed the course of a river or nearby river to create a clever channel system, like Venice in Italy. We think in particular of Kurashiki, Omihachiman or Sawarawhich have become popular tourist destinations for their boat trips along the canals.

To less than 1 hour by train from Fukuokawe discover the rural village of Yanagawaalso known for its fortified navigable moat and preserved since the beginning of the Edo period (1603 – 1868). This old feudal city called jokamachi was used at the time protection of the castle ? from Yanagawa, now extinct. The constructed canals also performed various very useful functions, such as:

Abandoned with the modernization of the industrial revolution, the canals were saved from their fate by the inhabitants of Yanagawa who themselves undertook the depollution of the waters as well as the regular maintenance of the channels. On a trip to the city in the early 1980s, the famous director Hayao Miyazaki is fascinated by this landscape and the collective will of the population to live in harmony with its past and the surrounding nature. The result is the interesting documentary film The History of the Yanagawa Canalreleased in 1987 in Japan under the official name ?????? Yanagawa Horiwari Monogatari and directed by Isao Takahata. This Studio Ghibli showcase will increase the notoriety of the city, which is now one of the top tourist attractions in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Bucolic cruise on the city’s canals

Squared by 60 kilometers of waterwaysdowntown Yanagawa is largely passable by boat ?? and some residents continue to travel there by boat. The Kawakudari Cruiseaboard a flat-bottomed boat named donkobunetherefore presents itself as the main activity to be carried out.

Led by a boatman equipped with a pole, we follow the course of the water as we plunge back into the feudal past of the city. We particularly appreciate the passages under narrow bridges as well as the bucolic setting around the canals where majestic willows and other tall trees flourish. During the ride, which lasts about 1 hour, we also come across a floating shop that sells its items directly from boat to boat.

Japanese speakers enjoy the boatman’s anecdotes as well as the traditional songs he hums along the way. The texts he recites are usually signed Hakushu Kitahara (1885 – 1942), a local Japanese artist whose parental home in the town has become a museum.

The city organizes several events throughout the year with parades on the waterthe best known of which are:

The canals also attract many couples who immortalize their marriage there.

Yanagawa (Fukuoka), couple in wedding kimono on canal cruise

Scenic Beauty of the Ohana Tachibana Residence

Not far from one of the 6 embarkation ports for the Yanagawa canal cruise, there is the former private property Ohana of the Tachibana clan who once ruled the feudal domain. The historic site hosts several buildings, including the Seiyokan Residence characterized by its Western architecture with a white facade from the Meiji era (1868 – 1912), accompanied by the traditional Japanese villa in dark wood.

The architectural diversity and color contrast work beautifully here, complimented by the pretty Shoto-en Japanese Garden which serves as a natural link between the pavilions. Framed by many Japanese pines, the main body of water recalls the view of Matsushima Bay in Tohoku.

Yanagawa (Fukuoka), Shoto-en Garden of the Ohana Tachibana Residence

As for gastronomy, Yanagawa offers fish-based specialties ? and fresh shellfish. It is thus renowned for its particular way of cooking eel, baptized Unagi no Seiro-mushi : marinated then steamed and served on a bed of rice in a box bento box ?. Stew ? nabe local to freshwater fish is also delicious to eat in winter, as well as the crab caught in the Ariake Sea.

Publicidad – Sigue leyendo debajo

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

The director and the actress and co-writer Raphaëlle Pérez premiere in cinemas ‘My vacuum and I’, a story of overcoming the emotional complexities of gender transition.

There’s a Spanish cinema on the margins, which escapes large financing and focuses on less represented groups. An auteur cinema, if you want to call it, risky and with little to lose. One of Jonás Trueba’s latest films, ‘Who prevents it’ (2021), responded to this type of label. Trueba’s proposal was non-conformist: with a duration of almost 4 hours, it played with the format, the genre ? which navigated between documentary and fiction ?, and involved its adolescent protagonists in the creative process and how they wanted to be represented. onscreen.

Experiments like this also run through the films of Adrian SilvestreValencian director responsible for ‘The loving objects’ (2016), ‘Sedimentos’ (2021) and the recently released ‘My emptiness and I’, with a vindictive look at the rights of the body, gender identity and, ultimately, those people who inhabit the margins as his films do. Interested in a diverse representation of trans people in cinema, his latest work, awarded in the past Malaga Festival with the Special Jury Prize and selected at festivals such as Rotterdam or Barcelona’s D’Afollows the process of assimilation and acceptance of Raphi (Raphaelle Perez)after being diagnosed with a mismatch between the felt gender and the sex assigned at birth.

Director and leading actress comment on the creative and organic process of the film.

Adrián: I have always worked with natural actors out of necessity, because I started working with the people around me. I found people who did not have an artistic career but had a reality to tell. Suddenly I was polishing and finding a new praxis. Regardless of whether I fix a documentary, there is an undeniable part of the link with reality, and even if I make a fiction, the documentary overtones are there. I like it that way. I like that you can feel that this is really happening.

‘My vacuum and I’ is written by six hands: those of Adrián, Raphaëlle and the director and screenwriter Carlos Marqués-Marcet, responsible for ‘10,000 Km’ (2014) and ‘The days to come’ (2019), among others. The seed of inspiration was a series of texts that Raphaëlle herself had written recounting her experience since she was diagnosed with gender dysphoria.

Adrián: It has been a lot of fun because in the end all the work with Raphi has been very organic, very much based on the friendship that we have been creating throughout the process. When Carlos joined this ship he started in the same way: becoming our friend and working in an informal but loving way, with a lot of attention to detail, in an unorthodox and more spontaneous way.

Raphaëlle: The film is autobiographical, auto-fiction? You can call it whatever you want because in the end it is based on my experiences, experiences that I had written at the time. [?]Many people who have seen the opening sequence in the doctor’s office have written to me privately or in conversations saying that this is not real, because it seems so exaggerated, absurd. And no, it had happened to me just like that. In 2016 when I started transit at the Hospital Clínic, the doctor had really asked me those kinds of questions.

A series of intimate questions that begin the film making the protagonist uncomfortable, about to begin a journey of no return towards her true identity. Silvestre’s film shows the precariousness of health resources for trans groups, something that is necessarily accompanied by a generational mentality that seems ? at this point ? stubborn in rejecting the self-affirmation of a transgender person.

Raphaëlle: Since I started my process in 2016 until now things have been changing. In fact, in Barcelona trans people are no longer received only at the Hospital Clínic, but there is also the Trànsit service, where you can go to start your own hormonal process. I am glad that this Trans Law Project exists and that in the end there is so much talk about it. Hopefully it will help all those people, among whom I include myself, to conquer rights that are still lacking.

Adrián: Violence is very visible for the trans community. Now that in Spain we are experiencing a moment of change and Barcelona is a great city where some things are advancing, I have been able to work with trans women who have been able to enjoy some rights acquired little by little. But it was important to show that violence moves to other places, such as social networks. When we are in public everything is politically correct, but when no one is looking… there is violence in the language, in the demands, in the treatment. That is still there and I think it transcends the trans issue.

Raphaëlle’s hard road goes through self-acceptance which, in turn, is given in many cases by external validation. mobile messages, selfie and the reflections in the mirrors appear in different scenarios of ‘My emptiness and me’ when the search for a special connection with another person becomes more and more complicated in the times of mobile dating applications.

Raphaëlle: I always had this thing of feeling incomplete. To think that completing myself had to go through having another person by my side. I had not understood that those steps I had to take myself. [?] That aspect of appearance has a lot to do with me because it is part of some tastes that I have for having studied fashion design. It is true that sometimes having that ?trans thing? was also seen as a handicap, but not right now. My feminist vision has changed. And I think making this movie with Adrian has been really therapeutic for me.

Adrián: I think that the women I have met are clear about who they are, much more so than other people who have never asked themselves why we are the way we are. They are people who have had to ask themselves many questions and make many decisions about their identity and that has given me a very valuable self-confidence. In the end we are not what we want in this life, we are what they let us be. In a sense that is what happens to Raphi. On the one hand, he likes to play with his gender expression, with his aesthetics, with his outfits, but in the end this has social consequences because it is read as a provocation. And in that balance is where she seeks her happiness.

‘My emptiness and I’ tries to fill a space in Raphaëlle’s life, but also in a cinematographic offer that has rarely approached the real problems of the trans collective. The naturalness of Pérez, as well as the staging in a cosmopolitan Barcelona, ??conveys the peace and uneasiness that is happening through the life of her character. In this way, her message manages to reach a vindication on a political and social level, but also to a complex and exciting intimacy, in which the search for a better half is displaced to other ways of loving each other.

Raphaëlle: Adrián has always been there from the beginning. He is a person who has helped me grow and mature, so I am very grateful that life has brought us together and to have him as a friend. His work is also a very nice lesson. After so much rejection when looking for an ideal romantic love, it turns out that true love was through a friend who was by my side.

Economic and mental health impacts of multiple adverse events: Hurricane Harvey, other flooding events, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Environmental Research, 2022; 214: 114020 DOI: 10.1016/j.envres.2022.114020

The result springs from separate surveys on the impact of Harvey and COVID-19, led by Katherine Ensor, the Noah G. Harding Professor of Statistics at Rice; Marie Lynn Miranda, director of the Children?s Environmental Health Initiative at Notre Dame and former Rice provost; and Elena Craft, senior director for climate and health at the Environmental Defense Fund.

The study originated with 2018?s Texas Flood Registry (TFR), a first-of-its-kind registry to track the short and long-term health and housing impacts of a hurricane through online survey data. As COVID-19 came into play, the researchers realized the tools that support the TFR could be used to track the impact of the pandemic and assess whether multiple exposures magnify preexisting harms.

?We?ve already looked at how prior exposure to Hurricane Harvey and other flooding events affect economic and mental health outcomes,? said Rashida Callender, a research associate at Rice and lead author on the project. ?We know prior exposure to natural disasters of short duration such as a flood can reduce resilience, but there?s never been a study that looked at prior flooding exposure and how that affects outcomes during a longer-term, nonweather-related disaster such as a pandemic.?

The new study built upon technical infrastructure from the existing TFR to launch the national COVID-19 Registry in April 2020. Its purpose is to track experiences during the pandemic, including health, behavior and economic changes.

The analysis incorporates answers from approximately 3,000 participants returned questionnaires to both the TFR and COVID-19 registries.

?Something that stood out was a clear distinction between the impact of acute effects and secondary stressors,? Callender said.

The team concluded the following:

  • COVID-19 outcomes were impacted more by Hurricane Harvey-related economic and mental health stressors than by acute home flooding and damage.
  • People who lost income during Harvey were four times more likely to lose income during COVID-19.
  • People who experienced Hurricane Harvey as a ?severe impact event? were five times more likely to have severe anxiety during COVID-19 compared to those whose experience with Harvey was not a meaningful impact event.

But Callender pointed out the sample group who returned surveys is not representative of the general population.

?In general, our study population has been a majority non-Hispanic white, female population, many of whom have a college degree or higher,? she said. ?For us, it suggests that in the general population, the impacts could potentially be greater. We did find that non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic respondents were more than twice as likely to report having difficulty paying rent or bills during the pandemic, consistent with other studies documenting disproportionate impacts of COVID-19.?

The registries are hosted by the Kinder Institute Urban Data Platform (UDP). The UDP is a secure computing platform and data repository hosting 282 datasets about the greater Houston area.

Ensor said the Kinder Institute?s support made the study possible. ?The UDP is a tremendous resource for our community, and I am proud to have played a leading role in its creation,? she said.

With both climate change accelerating the frequency and intensity of natural disasters and COVID-19 becoming endemic, the question remains how to handle the next disaster and who will be more heavily affected.

Callender said tracking the long-term aftermath of exposure to prior disasters can underscore the importance of identifying higher-risk people and communities when developing response efforts and intervention programs.

If the first day of the D23 Expo was marked by the productions live action and animation of disney and Pixar, the event long awaited by fans of the mcu was the Showcase Studio opening the festivities this Saturday. marvel studios was obviously there to talk to us about upcoming projects, even though the San Diego Comic-Con had already entertained us by revealing all of the productions of the Stage 5 and announcing two new films avengers who will come to close the Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga. So, heavy in sight?

The panel kicked off with a stage performance by… Rogers: The Musical ! Yes, the musical present in the series Hawkeye. In the unexpected genre, it arises there. Then followed more or less long and interesting speeches around Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, iron heart, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Werewolf By Night, Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, Loki season 2, Fantastic Four, Echo, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts and The Marvels.

Yes, although the rumor has been circulating for a while, we will be entitled on October 7th to a special Halloween program Werewolf by Night directed by Michael Giacchino and incorporated into mcuwhich was entitled to a first trailer disconcerting to say the least. Besides the black and white image, it’s a whole vintage aesthetic that transpires from the video, well helped by the old classic horror screams and various staging ideas that have had their day. In the main role, we find Gael García Bernal as Jack Russellwho will be the werewolf, while Laura Donnelly embodies the monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone. You will also notice that the decorations at the very end resemble those of the VAT and that the soldiers seem to be Timers with their sticks used to scramble. For once, there is something to be really intrigued!

You can find the new details for each project below, listed by category and in the order of their upcoming release. Re Secret Invasiondo not hesitate to take a look at our dedicated article.

Live action series

  • Ironheart (Fall 2023) – Anthony Ramos will play Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood, who has ties to dark magic, despite not possessing any basic powers in the comics. The precise nature of his role has not been specified. However, a first preview was shown to the public on the spot and it looked mean. Magic will clash with Riri Williams’ technology in the series according to Kevin Feige. Otherwise, the character camped by Alden Ehrenreich was seen checking Riri, while that of Jim Rash was shown, who will a priori be Dean Bryant, Riri’s adviser at MIT.
  • Echo (summer 2023) – A first preview was shown, ending with a preview of the Kingpin. The series is set to portray more of the Native American heritage of the character played by Alaqua Cox (Maya Lopez), who has been seen beating up enemies. The latter and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk) were present on stage, promising incredible scenes where they are together.
  • Loki season 2 (summer 2023) – Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Owen Wilson (Agent Mobius) and Ke Huy Quan took the stage, the latter joining the cast. A first glimpse was shown with Loki back at TVA and sent back through time, stating that war is coming.
  • Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024) – The series already offers a new logo with the two “D” symbolizing the alter ego of Matt Murdock surrounded by a circle. Vincent D’Onofrio was joined on stage by Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), but nothing new was drawn from it, since it was a Daredevil clip from She-Hulk which was broadcast, the filming of the series has not yet started.
  • Armor Wars (undated) – The story of Secret Invasion will lead directly to that of Armor Wars, which is still planned and will begin filming next year with Don Cheadle reprising his role as James Rhodes (War Machine). By the way, a new logo has been revealed.

Feature films

  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11) – A never-before-seen preview was shown to the crowd, in which Queen Ramonda attends a United Nations meeting to talk about the dangers of Vibranium, followed by an action scene with the Dora Milaje, including Aneka played by Michaela Coel . In addition to director Ryan Coogler, performers Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) also took the stage, the latter of whom said Chadwick Boseman was “with them” throughout the filming and that they had to reach its level of excellence, while the actor playing Namor (and who learned to swim for the role) indicated that this film does not is not just entertainment and goes way beyond that.
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023) – Besides the fact that Jonathan Majors (Kang) designates Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) as the sexiest man alive and that, conversely, the interpreter of Scott Lang speaks of him as being incredible, the most interesting was the on-site broadcast of a new preview of the film. This one opened with a road trip with Scott, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), and later teased MODOK’s appearance. A scene confirmed the return of agent Jimmy Woo who we will find chatting with Scott over a meal, him who has become a famous author, saying that his daughter is as problematic as him and that he must her recover in jail. She works with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to help people by developing a quantum communications system, but it’s her experiments that will send the whole gang (Scott, Hank and Cassie) to the quantum realm where the King is. Krylar (Bill Murray). The preview ends with Kang asking Ant-Man if he ever killed him and forcing him to play thieves again by recovering something stolen from him. Kevin Feige also said that the movie will tie directly into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, logical.
  • The Marvels (July 28, 2023) – A first preview was shown on location in the presence of the three heroines and director Nia DaCosta, in which Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) switch places (from the same than at the end of Miss Marvel) as their powers are tangled. Zawe Ashton will be the antagonist of the film.
  • Captain America: New World Order (May 3, 2024) – Again, new logo for the film with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) directed by Julius Onah, highlighting the wings of his armor that we discovered at the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We learned that the enemy of the film will be the Leader, also known as Samuel Sterns, who will be played by Tim Blake Nelson. And if that means anything to you, it’s because he already played the character in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, which is part of the MCU. Actress Shira Haas will play a certain Sabra, an Israeli superheroine, just like her, who appeared in the Hulk comics and who is also a mutant! Other returns, that of Danny Ramirez on the one hand, whom we had seen in the series mentioned above and who will resume his role of Joaquin Torres, a soldier who in the comics has become the Falcon, and Carl Lumbly on the other hand in as Isaiah Bradley.
  • Thunderbolts (July 26, 2024) – The members of the team giving its name to the feature film have been revealed, with finally only well-known faces, namely the mysterious Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), the Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker aka US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) and dear Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). Andy Park produced a superb illustration of the band for the occasion. Now, the connection between all the more earthly productions of Phase 4 is more than obvious. The film will be directed by Jake Schreier, with a screenplay by Eric Pearson.
  • Fantastic Four (8 November 2024) – Alas, no casting details were given, but we now know that Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will be the director, replacing Jon Watts.

The vast majority of films and series from Marvel Cinematic Universe can be viewed on Disney+ (this is a little less the case for France alas…), whose subscription ?8.99 per month or ?89.90 per year. A temporary offer until September 19 allows to obtain a month for only 1.99 ? for new subscribers.

Seven weeks after its theatrical release, it comes to Disney+ ‘Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness’ (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), the latest Marvel movie and a good example of fantastic with tendencies to horror, a trademark of Sam Raimi’s house.

There was a lot of desire to see what Raimi (who had already directed the first Spider-Man trilogy for Marvel) would do with a hero who, by characteristics and lore, it fit perfectly in its field. Obviously we were not going to find gore or offal in abundance (we did not stop being, well, in Marvel) but still his hand and his influences are noticeable.

Good dose of dark fantasy

Raimi came to ‘Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness’ after the departure of Scott Derrickson and He came wanting to play and make us have a good time. And in that sense, it has been a complete success signing a fantastic film, fun and at times disturbing (perhaps more in speech than in images).

Thus, with a script Tom michael waldron (who already signed the script for ‘Loki’), we have an interesting dose of monsters in which the adventure with America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and his meeting with Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)who tries to protect her from the threat she represents Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen).

The latter is something that aroused certain complaints from the fandom, who accused those above of betraying the Scarlet Witch. Apparently these missed the superheroine’s downward spiral in ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’, whose post-credits scene completely fits what we find here.

Regardless of controversial fans (what we like a good discussion), we find a highly entertaining adventure, at times ingenious and with unusually violent and gloomy moments. In a few cast-movie moments, it’s quite refreshing that ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ manages to burn certain sequences and shots into our retinas.

From 'Death to Hell' to 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness': All Sam Raimi's movies ordered from worst to best

In addition, Raimi manages to work with the demands and tolls of Marvel Studios. Even the obligatory “cameos” (the Illuminati in this case), which serve to expand the MCU by planting seeds for the future (another thing is that Feige does not want to go there later), are well resolved on screen.

Shrinking the window between cinema and platform

Doctor Strange Wanda

Now, the film arrives at Disney + a little earlier than usual, since with other films such as ‘Eternals’ or ‘Shang-Chi’, the window has been two months between theaters and platform. It thus approaches the 45-day window that Warner is already practicing with HBO Max (and there we have ‘The Batman’ or ‘Fantastic Animals: Dumbledore’s secrets).

It seems that Disney does not want the noise around the film to cool down, since the film opens on platforms after a good harvest of audiences in theaterswith a collection of more than nine hundred million dollars against an estimated budget of almost two hundred million.

Katarína Foga?ová, Peter Manko, and Jozef Obona of the University of Pre?ov, Slovakia, initially set out to Eastern Slovakia to study the organisms living in the little water puddles forming in teasel leaf axils.

Teasels of the genus Dipsacus have characteristic opposite leaves that grow on the stem above each other in several levels. As they clasp the stem, they form cup-like structures that collect water, known as telmata.

?Teasel phytotelmata are a relatively common but overlooked aquatic microcosm with a very short-term occurrence of only 3 to 4 months.?

To their surprise, they found differently coloured fragments and fibers, some reaching 2.4 mm in length, which were identified as microplastics.

?These phytotelmata are very small and have a short lifespan,? the researchers write in their paper, which was published in the journal BioRisk. ?The question is, therefore, how were they polluted with microplastics??

No other sources of contaminants were found in the studied area, so the fragments and fibers most likely came from polluted atmosphere, they suggest. Another theory is that snails may have transported them from the soil or from other plants, in or on their bodies.

?The first finding of microplastics in small short-term water reservoirs created by plants is further evidence that contamination of this kind spreads through various pathways and probably no environment on Earth is safe, which of course makes our discovery quite disheartening,? the researchers say.

?On the other hand, the results of our research of teasel phytotelmata, as a very unusual and highly specific natural environment, offer many possibilities for use in researching the spatio-temporal characteristics of the spread of microplastic pollution and its potential impact on the plants themselves, as well as organisms bound to them by ecological relations.?

They suggest that, due to their abundance and theoretical ability to capture microplastics in several ways from the environment, teasel phytotelmata could be a good indicator of microplastic presence.

?Our publication therefore not only brings the first discovery of microplastic pollution of habitats of this type, but also the first proposal of a new approach to the use of teasel phytotelmata and similar micro-ecosystems provided by plants (or artificially created), as bioindicators of the presence of microplastics in the environment, possible sources and pathways of their spread through the environment and spatio-temporal changes in microplastic contamination.?

He has recognized that there is always something of his in his films, and in this one as well: ?My voice and my body, but beyond that one tries to make it close. They have wanted to address mental health from humor with “a lot of tact and a lot of respect”: “With the” alibi “of having my 93-year-old mother who no longer remembers and no longer knows us”. “The film is not only a comedy, it is also full of feelings, drama, affections, traps, disaffection, traps, blackmail, it is full of many things.”

the actor recalls the dead mother (1993) from Juanma Bajo Ulloa as a ?very long-suffering? film: ?One of the great film directors of this country and he was my first leading man. He had made other films, but that was the one I took on with the greatest responsibility. I have very good memories of it and it is also a film that I think was very good for us?.

Although he participated in the first and second part of the film Eight Basque surnames, ?I didn’t want to hear about a second one, but, yes, yes, I did. The part that interests me the most in this work, cinema or theater, is reading the script, understanding the character, contrasting it with the scriptwriter or director, who is sometimes the same; see if I have understood it, contribute those things that are paying the character, embody it and that is where my work should end. Between doing the same character again or doing something else, obviously I’d rather do something else.”

Between jokes and applause, the actor Karra Elejalde has shared his 2015 Goya for best supporting actor with the nominees and with the rest of the profession and has dedicated it to the memory of his father and the actor Álex Anglulo. He has also mentioned his daughter, present in the audience.
